COVID-19: MATAWALLE INSPECTS THE ON GOING 8PM- 6AM CURFEW TO ASCERTAIN COMPLIANCE
Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Muhammad, Matawallen Maradun, Sunday night, inspected the on going stay at home order of 8pm to 6am enforced by the Federal Government in order to ensure level of compliance.
The Governor who went round Gusau metropolis along with the entire heads of security agencies serving in the state expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by citizens of the state.
Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle said that the aim of the inspection is for him to see the level of compliance with the directives by people of the state and also to observe the way and manner security agencies are conducting their assignments and enforcement of the order.
He said that his administration would do everything humanly possible to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state by enforcing all necessary measures to prevent the curb and community transmission of the disease in all parts of the state.
The Governor therefore reaffirmed the enforcement of the 8pm to 6am curfew with an additional measure taken on Kaura Namoda town and environs, the headquarters of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, which is now from 6pm to 6am in the morning.
The Governor visited Tudun Wada Area, Lalan roundabout, Gusau city centre, Gada Biyu Area, and other strategic places in Gusau, the state capital.
During the visit, the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Nagaggo, who is the chairman of the State Taskforce on Lockdown Order, along side Brigade Commander 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army Gusau, State Director of Security SDS, and the State Commandant NSCDC, briefed the Governor on the general aspect of the operation and enforcement order on the part of Security.
CP Usman Nagaggo told the Governor that people of the state and even motorists have fully complied with the order that simplified the job of the security personnel.
He added that Police, Army and personnel of other security agencies have been posted to various entry points of the state, and strategic places in order to ensure compliance.
It could be recalled that last week Zamfara State Government enforced the closure of all markets in the state as well as the suspension of congressional prayers in mosques and churches across the state for a period of one week, as part of additional measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
