Bayelsa Executive Council holds valedictory session for late former Commissioner, Ogullah
... as Gov. Diri describes him stable character
A Special valedictory session was held today in honour of the late former Commissioner for Finance, High Chief (Dr.) Stephen B. Ogullah, by members of the State Executive Council amidst encomiums for the late politician.
At the emotion-laden session held at the Exco Chamber of Government House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Governor Douye Diri, described the late Commissioner as a man of stable character and a formidable team player who contributed immensely to the development of the State.
The Governor described the late Ogullah as a reliable friend who was so supportive of his re-election victory in the last gubernatorial election.
"Dr. Stephen Ogullah has been a very stable character in and out of service. Dr. Ogullah has been very supportive of this administration.
Indeed, in the past election, Dr. Ogullah was a mobilizer, he mobilised support not only in Sagbama but across Bayelsa State for the hard-earned victory that we have today.
Dr. Ogullah formed a political group he christened, "The Prosperity Movement," in support of our second term. And so, once again, Adieu to our brother, friend and colleague, Dr. Stephen Ogullah," Governor Diri stated.
Four former colleagues of the deceased, Mr. Blesson Akpuluma, former Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Kesiye Frank-Oputu, former Commissioner, Special Duties, Governor's office, Chief Robert Enogha, former Environment Commissioner and Chief Josephine Ezonbodor, former Education in their valedictory speeches described late Ogullah as a dedicated public servant.
Dr. Ogullah died at the age of 64 years.
