Kefas launches Taraba Young Professionals Scheme
On Tuesday, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State officially initiated a youth training program on Hydraform Brick Moulding Technology at Jauro Yinu Primary School in Jalingo, the state capital, as part of the Taraba Young Professionals Scheme.
At the launch, Governor Kefas reiterated that this initiative supports his administration's pledge to deliver good governance and quality education to the people of Taraba. He stressed that providing free and compulsory primary and secondary education, supported by strong infrastructure, is a key goal of his administration.
He stated that Hydraform International, a reputable South African company, supplied the project's equipment, enabling the construction of new school buildings in all 16 local government areas.
He is confident that these schools will provide long-term benefits, serving both current and future generations.4
He noted that this project encompasses not only education but also empowering young people to contribute to the development of Taraba State. He assured the public that additional training programs, including school furniture making, are forthcoming.
Dr. Augustina Godwin, Commissioner for Education, remarked that participants were selected from all 16 local government areas. She highlighted the importance of the skills learned through this training in revitalizing the education sector. The state has also acquired 45 Hydraform machines, and the 100 trainees will cascade their knowledge to the local level.
A drama performance by the Taraba State Art Council added a cultural touch to the event.
Present were the Commissioners, the Governor's Chief of Staff, Dr. Jeji Williams, MNI, Special Advisers, and various dignitaries showing their support for this initiative.
