Taraba PDP elects new Executives.
The Taraba State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has elected new officials who will lead the party for the next four years.
During the event, Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, urged the newly elected Executives to prioritize unity and reconciliation within the party. He emphasized that these principles are crucial for the continued success and cohesion of the PDP.
The State Congress, held this Saturday, marked the election of new officials, having Alhaji Abubakar Bawa as Chairman, Comrade Obidah Bitrus as Vice Chairman, Barr Siman Musa Istifanus as Secretary, and Mr. Danladi Ahmadu as Treasurer, amongst others.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kefas, who has previously served as the party’s chairman, reflected on the unique challenges and opportunities that come with party leadership. He stressed the importance of reconciliation and unity, expressing gratitude to the outgoing caretaker committee for their service. He reminded the new officials that their election is a significant trust placed in them, urging them to work diligently to uphold the party's legacy.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, expressed his appreciation to Governor Kefas and other key stakeholders for their support. He assured the party that under his leadership, the principles of unity and discipline would be central to their efforts to maintain the PDP’s strong standing in the state.
Earlier, the outgoing Acting Chairman, Elder Nuhu Abeh, advised the new leadership to align with Governor Kefas's leadership style and support his developmental initiatives for the state.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Major General Aminu Bande, praised the peaceful conduct of the election and commended Governor Kefas for his role in maintaining the party's stability.
The newly elected Executive members were officially sworn in by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice for Taraba State, Hon. Barr Yakubu Maikasuwa SAN.
