PDP Intact In Bayelsa, Says Gov Diri

*Explains Why Party’s South-South Congress Was Shifted *Kinsmen Apologise For Turnah’s Action Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has allayed concerns of any cracks in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, saying the party was intact, firmly on ground and remained the only platform for aspiring politicians to actualise their dreams. Governor Diri stated this on Monday during the PDP State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held at its secretariat in Yenagoa. Diri noted that PDP had produced different political office holders from the state, including a former President of Nigeria and that it remained the party to beat in the state. The Bayelsa helmsman enjoined members not to be distracted by rumours but rather close ranks for the growth of the party. Upon opening the Conference, the Governor remarked that the gathering was a continuation of a workshop held the preceding year, stressing its function as a call to duty and a period of reflection on the complexities and accountability inherent in leadership. Enugu emerges top performer in UBEC performance indicators

Enugu State has emerged top spot in key Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) performance indicators across the federation.  At a three-day meeting of SUBEB chairmen and states’  commissioners of education with the UBEC Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, and members of the management team, which came to an end on Saturday in Abuja, Enugu State's exceptional records were highlighted and lauded as exemplary by the commission. According to UBEC, the state emerged first in several areas, including highest budget allocation to education, alignment with UBEC initiatives, accessing matching grants, provision of modern infrastructure, and introduction of skill-based subjects. UBEC stressed that its assessments were driven by several indicators, adding that Enugu State allocated 33% of its budget to the education sector, surpassing the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) 26% benchmark.
