Governor Bala Mohammed Leads Bauchi State Delegates to a Resounding Outing at FITA 2025 in Tunis

The Government of Bauchi State is pleased to announce the successful participation of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Fnipr (Kauran Daular Usmaniyya) the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, at the 8th edition of the Financing Investment and Trade in Africa (FITA2025), which took place from May 6–7, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Center, Tunis. 


Organized by the Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC), the  prestigious summit drew over 2,000 participants from more than 60 countries, including heads of state, ministers, CEOs, global investors, and development institutions. The 2025 edition also marked TABC’s 10th anniversary and was held under the High Patronage of the President of Tunisia.

Governor Bala Mohammed led a high-level delegation that included the Chief of Staff to the Governor , Dr. Aminu Hassan Gamawa , Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor , Alh Yahuza Adamu Ningi , Chairman Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Commerce,  Hon Zakariya Sale Maigero and the Senior Special Assistant on Strategy to the Governor and other selected entrepreneurs. The Governor’s delegation demonstrated strong leadership, active engagement, and tangible outcomes across all sessions and engagements.

At the FITA2025 'Invest in Bauchi' side event, Governor Mohammed eloquently presented Bauchi State as a destination of choice for global investors. He outlined investment-ready opportunities in agriculture, energy, tourism, solid minerals, infrastructure, and industrial processing zones. The Governor’s pitch generated tremendous interest, with several CEOs and financiers expressing their commitment to participate in the upcoming Bauchi State International Investment Summit scheduled for July 2025.

His Excellency, Governor Bala also signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tunisia Africa Business Council to deepen cooperation in investment promotion, technology transfer, and sustainable economic collaboration. He also visited multiple Tunis-based factories with interests in agribusiness and light manufacturing, securing preliminary commitments from firms planning to establish production lines in Bauchi State.

During the course of the summit, the Governor held productive bilateral meetings with high-level delegates, including Senator Sadiq Umar, Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, Managing Director of NEPZA, the Minister of Tourism from Madagascar, the Deputy Minister of Tourism from Ghana, and various development finance institutions. His one-on-one engagements through the FITA B2B and B2G sessions were strategic, resulting in concrete interest and follow-up action items.

Governor Bala Mohammed’s outing at FITA2025 was widely hailed as one of the most impactful, further positioning Bauchi as 'Africa’s Next Frontier for Inclusive Investment.' Under his visionary leadership and in alignment with the My Bauchi Project Phases I & II, Bauchi is accelerating its path toward becoming a competitive investment hub driven by innovation, enterprise, and inclusive growth.


Following this successful mission, the state government will establish a FITA2025 Outcomes Implementation Unit within the Bauchi State Investment Promotion Agency. This unit will coordinate MoUs, track investment leads, and support preparations for the July Investment Summit. A public report summarizing Bauchi’s participation and lessons from FITA2025 will be released to ensure transparency and broad stakeholder engagement.

The Government of Bauchi State extends appreciation to the Tunisian Ambassador to Nigeria for his support in facilitating this impactful participation. FITA2025 has set a high standard for global engagement, and Bauchi is proud to have risen to the occasion.
