National Sports Festival: Gov Agbu Kefas Urges Taraba Contingent to Be Good Ambassadors

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has charged the state's contingent to the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Ogun state to be good ambassadors of the state.
Dr. Agbu Kefas stated this while bidding farewell to the contingent at the Jolly Nyame stadium in Jalingo, the state capital, this Thursday, 15th of May 2025.
Addressing the contingent, Dr. Agbu Kefas encouraged them to strive for the best and bring back medals to the state.
He said he has approved funds for the contingent to enable them to participate actively in the events.
He assured the contingent of the support of his administration and added that he will continue to prioritize sport.
The Permanent Secretary of the Sports Commission, Mrs. Indo Maxson, commended the Governor for taking time to meet with the athletes before their departure.
She said the team is in a high spirit and would represent the state well and make it proud at the festival.
According to her, the athletes who cut across the state have been properly trained for the competitions.
The Director of Sports, Mr. George Shitta, disclosed that the state's contingent will be participating in 13 sporting events.
He thanked the Governor for his continued support for Sports and for ensuring that the state participates in national competitions.
A one-time African badminton champion, Bulus Jimkam, who spoke on behalf of the others, said they are ready to make the state proud.
The athletes are expected to leave for Ogun State for the festival which will start from 16 to 30th of May 2025.
