Southern Taraba Organizes Civic Reception In Honour of Gov Kefas

The people of Southern Taraba have organized a civic reception in honour of the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas.

The reception ceremony was held at the Government Secondary School, Wukari, attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Agbu Kefas, expressed delight over the honour of his people. He described the occasion as a unifying factor.

The Governor took time to highlight the impacts he had made on the zone before he became governor.

He said for the past two years, he has noted the concerns and expectations raised by the people and assured them that his administration remains focused on delivering tangible results.

Gov. Kefas noted that he has worked to maintain peace across the State and has taken steps to restore the dignity of traditional institutions

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to always do his best for the people of Taraba, stating that it is his responsibility to act in their best interest.

He said he engaged in journeys outside the state to attract potential partners and investors and build bridges in the interest of the state and not for personal pleasure.

In his Speech, the Paramount Ruler of the Jukuns, the Chairman of Taraba State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, the Aku Uka, His Royal Majesty The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to always do his best for the people of Taraba, stating that it is his responsibility to act in their best interest.

He said he engaged in journeys outside the state to attract potential partners and investors and build bridges in the interest of the state and not for personal pleasure.

Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, said Gov. Agbu Kefas is the second person in the zone to be elected governor.

He expressed happiness in the achievements of the Governor in education, health, agriculture, and other sectors of the economy and said the southern zone is proud of him.

He said the Governor has strengthened the education sector and has made it more viable.

He gave kudos to the Governor for his visionary leadership and it's the reason the people decided to honor him.

He prayed to God to continue to grant him wisdom and foresight as he continued to provide leadership to the state.

In a goodwill message, the former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame, and Chief Michael Aondoka, Former Minister of Justice, said the occasion signifies the love the people of the zone have for the Governor. 

They used the opportunity to call on the people of the state, irrespective of tribe, religion, and section, to join hands with the Governor to develop the state.

The Chairman of the event's planning Committee, Chief John Maman, said the occasion was organized to honour the Governor, who is their son.

He said the ceremony is the brainchild of the traditional rulers in the southern zone who saw the need to appreciate God for choosing Kefas to lead the state.

He said they have strong faith in the ability of the Governor to bring development to the state 

The Governor was presented with gifts from the Aku Uka and the organizing committee of the occasion.

The Gara of Donga, Amb. Sanvalla Verzoa Shimbura, presented an award to the Governor on behalf of the southern zone for effective service to humanity and leadership.

The occasion featured a parade by some traditional dancers depicting the rich cultural heritage of the southern zone.
