Anambra: Ex-Transcorp Boss Valentine Ozigbo Emerges PDP Guber Candidate

In a keenly contested primary election, Valentine Ozigbo, former CEO of Transcorp Corporation has won the PDP gubernatorial primaries election in Anambra State.


Announcing the results, the head of the electoral panel, Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, said that Ozigbo polled a total of 62 votes out of 218 votes to defeat his closet rival, Dr Obiora Okonkwo who polled 58 votes while Senator Uche Ekwunife came third with 44 votes.

Two void votes were voided.


The primary election was held at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka.

Of the 16 aspirants who obtained the PDP nomination and declaration of interest forms, 12 aspirants were present at the venue and participated in the voting process.

The Anambra governorship election is billed to hold on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

12. Dr. Ifedi Okwenna (1 vote)
