IGR: Fintiri Asks ADHA to Enlarge Revenue Board

As part of moves to strengthen as well as increase the managerial skills of some organisations in the state, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, during the week forwarded three (3) different bills to the State House of Assembly for consideration and passage.
The bills transmitted by Governor Fintiri, to the State Assembly were designed to amend the existing laws establishing State Revenue Administration Law, 2020, Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) and the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) Law, 2020.
Governor Fintiri in the copies of letters, prayed the house to amend the State Revenue Administration Law, so as to provide for the appointment of the Executive Directors and to enlarge the composition of the board.
The governor requested the House to amend the State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (repeal and re-enactment) Law, 2018 to provide for the appointment of three (3) Members from the 3 Senatorial Districts as permanent members so as to have equal representation.
On BPP, the governor sought for amendment of the State Bureau of Public Procurement Law, 2020 so as to make the appointment of the Chairman and 3 Members who are non -ex-officio members full time.
Already, the bills have successfully scaled through the first reading following a motion to that effect by the Majority Leader, Hon. Hamman Tukur Yetisuri and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Muhammed Mutawali (Girei), respectively.
After the second reading of the bills, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the plenary session, directed the Clerk of the House to schedule the bills for second reading at the next legislative day.
