Fintiri Meets World Medical Relief Team for Health Sector Support

The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri is  meeting with the World Medical Relief team in Detroit, United States of America to access support for the health sector in the state. 

The World Medical Relief Incorporated is a multi-funded, non-profit charitable organisation based in Detroit, United States of America. 

The organisation has been serving humanity through advancing quality medical donations locally and internationally  since 1953.

Governor Fintiri accompanied by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Abdullahi Isa, held discussions on possible areas of support to the state.

Fintiri besides upgrading the rundown infrastructure in the General Hospitals across the state is also building new cottage hospitals in communities that have any.

The initiative is to seek collaboration and support to enable government provide state of the art medical facilities in all the health centres in accordance with international best practices. 

The Press Secretary to the Governor, Hunwashi Wonosikou, in a media release said the World Medical Relief is elated with the concern of the governor towards providing quality health care for his people and promised to assist the state. 

The President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. George Samson during the meeting, noted that with health challenges across the world as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, it is willing to support Adamawa to get it right because the organisation believes it will reduce medical tourism outside Nigeria. 
Governor Fintiri is  also expected to hold discussions with investors with a view to wooing them to invest in the state.
