Cassava Processing Factory Ebedebiri Ready for Commissioning

... as Governor Diri inspects facility

Bayelsa State Governor, Sen. Douye Diri, has embarked on a pre-commissioning visit to the Cassava Processing Factory in Ebedebiri, Sagbama LGA.

Led on a guided tour of the plant by Commissioner for Agriculture, David Alagoa, the Governor who commended the immediate past administration for initiating the project said he was excited to see that the project is ready for starch production.

"With the capacity of this factory, the cassava production in Bayelsa alone will not be sufficient or enough hence, we are going to go into our neighbouring states of Delta and Rivers State for more Cassava. Indeed,Bayelsa is ready to go with this factory.

However, this is an indication that our people must go back to farming because what we will be producing now will not be enough for this factory.

I hereby call on all Bayelsans to now shift our focus to Cassava farming and production because we have all the necessary tools and machine here as a factory for starch production. In this,we are talking about commercial farming and not subsistence farming  which alone will create enormous wealth for our people as both Women and Youths are encourage to go into production of Cassava.

We will now get date for formal commissioning after due consultation."
