Takeaways From Adamawa Retreat For Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries
In line with its vigour towards repositioning the act of governance, the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri administration has organised a retreat for Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries in Adamawa State.
The retreat was crafted to among other things uphold the principles of accountability and transparency in governance as well as entrench public engagement in decision-making.
The intensive three-day training session was aimed at preparing them for the task ahead for effective service delivery in addition to internalizing the administration's 8-point agenda for effective service delivery.
No doubt the retreat would enhance strict compliance to the standard code of conduct for public affairs, adhere to the Civil Service Rules in career progression and delivery of service, and train the participants on ways of shunning corruption.
It will foster the actualization of effective service delivery. In furtherance to that noble objective, it would acknowledge the importance of Information Technology to maximally sort for IT deployment in running Government affairs.
Security matters have also taken centre stage in the matters arising from the retreat, whereby, participants were cautioned to take their lives and that of their families as a top priority. This would enhance the security of the state.
It is therefore important for the government to organise such training from time to time to enhance the capacity of government officials to work in tune with changing times for the overall interest of the state.
