Gov. Diri receives rousing welcome at Otuan as PDP takes Governorship campaigns to Southern Ijaw constituency-1
The people of Otuan community in Southern Ijaw constituency-1, today rolled out drums to receive PDP Guber candidate and Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and his campaign team.
A son of Otuan and Commissioner representing Southern Ijaw LGA in the Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Cleopass Carter, spoke on behalf of the community.
Hon. Carter thanked Gov. Diri for lighting up the entire Otuan with over 300 solar panels.
He also notified the Governor that work is ongoing on the cassava processing factory he approved when he last visited the community.
Carter also said, over 300 meters of the new road the Governor approved has been done, and work is still ongoing.
Responding, Gov. Douye Diri, thanked the people for showing appreciation for the little works he has done in Otuan.
He said, the essence of governance is to provide the basic needs of the people to ease their living, and that is what the Prosperity Administration is doing.
Gov. Diri reiterated to the people that his administration would not play politics with the development of the state, and that, he has approved the construction of road to link Otuan community from the Nun river where work is seriously ongoing on the bridge crossing to Oporoma, the headquarters of Southern Ijaw LGA.
The Governor again surprised the people by directing the Commissioner for Works to begin the construction of Otuan first concrete road from where it earlier terminated.
The campaign trail also visited Amatolo Community.
