It was a huge carnival today in Odi, Sampou and Kaiama during the PDP Gubernatorial Campaign for the re-election of Governor Douye Diri and Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency One.

Gov. Diri, who hails from Sampou community in the constituency was received by a massive crowd of supporters with great jubilation.

At Odi and Kaiama, Governor Diri said he was in his constituency not to campaign but to thank the people for their continued support of his aspirations over the years.

The Governor accompanied by his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Diri, assured the people of more developmental projects and investments in youth to build their capacities.

At the palace of the Ibenanaowei of Kolokuma Kingdom, HRM King Agara Onya Mozi for royal blessing, Governor Diri was formally installed as Olotu kpe-kpe 1, meaning the "biggest champion" while the Deputy Governor, Senator Ewhrudjakpo, was conferred with the title of "Kuro-Okpo 1" of Kolokuma.

As part of the campaigns, Governor Diri inaugurated some new internal roads in Odi and Sampou.

Also, the newly completed Government Science, Technical and Vocational College, Sampou was inaugurated by the Governor.

The campaign trail led by Director-General, Hon. Mitema Obordor, later converged on Sampou to a colourful reception with Ijaw music icon, King Pere-ama Freetown on stage.
