Bayelsa PDP holds massive Guber Campaign Rally in Southern Ijaw Constituency Two

... Gov. Diri assures the people of more developmental projects

... Says ongoing road will hit Oporoma next year

The candidate of the People's Democratic Party(PDP) for the November 11 governorship election in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and his running mate, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, today took their campaign rally to Ayama, Igeibiri, Angiama and Oporoma communities, all in Southern Ijaw Constituency Two.

At Oporoma community, venue of the Constituency rally, it was a carnival-like atmosphere as a mammoth and joyous crowd thronged the streets and arena of the rally in their numbers to show their support.

Addressing the party's stakeholders, members and supporters, a delighted Governor Diri harped on the need for the people to vote PDP for more developmental projects in the area. He appreciated the people for the massive turnout.

"Some people would send money in advance to prepare for this kind of rally for them and come out to say the people have accepted them. We didn't send one naira to Oporoma." 

"All the traditional leaders from Southern Ijaw LGA gathered at Oporoma to say for this Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie road project we are doing, they gave me a chieftaincy title as; Uwou Fini-owei 1 of Southern Ijaw LGA. As for me and my deputy, there is nothing to campaign here again. I would only enjoin you that as you go to vote on the 11th of November, 2023, vote for PDP. As you vote, you have committed me to do more projects in Southern Ijaw LGA."

"On behalf of the campaign council, we say a very big thank you to all of you for coming out massively. And I know for every Oporoma man that is here, the road and bridge is the most important thing to you. I want to assure that next year by this time, we will be driving to Oporoma community. The last time I came here during the 2022 devastating flood, when you were in severe pains, I sympathized with you and brought palliatives. I promise you generator, by God's grace before we go into Christmas, that generator will come to Oporoma. I thank you for the organic support and commitment to your government and party. I assure you we will continue to do more people-oriented projects", Gov. Diri stated.

The traditional rulers from Southern Ijaw then conferred on the Governor, "Uwou fini-owei keni, for bringing the road to Oporoma and beyond.

The Governor had earlier inspected the ongoing work at the new General Hospital in Oporoma.

Dignitaries at the campaign rally were, Senator Friday Konbowei Benson, Hon. Marie Ebikake, Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei, Hon. Oforji Oboku, Hon. Mitema Obordor who doubles as DG of the Campaign, PDP National Financial Secretary, Hon. Woyengikuro Daniel, Rt. Hon. Monday Obolo Bubou, Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, PDP State Chairman, Hon. Solomon Agwana, and other top government and party officials.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.
