Gov Diri Presents N689.44bn 2025 Budget To Bayelsa Assembly

Governor of Bayelsa State,  Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday, presented the 2025 fiscal year budget proposal of N689.440 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration and passage. While presenting the appropriation bill christened, "Budget of ASSURED Prosperity," Governor Diri stressed that implementing the 2025 budget would require some level of efficiency and synergy in government activities across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). He said the overall outcome of the budget will significantly depend on the level of fiscal and monetary policy coordination.  He charged the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to accordingly ensure fiscal discipline, transparency, accountability and proper coordination in the implementation processes. Yes, Nkerefi, since the creation of Enugu State, has never been accommodated or given voices like what is happening under the present leadership.  These are established facts that speak for themselves.  Don’t get me wrong! Bayelsa Governor Receives Hero Of Nigerian Students Award

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has been honoured as the "Hero of Nigerian Students" by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for his outstanding performance in the education sector. The students' body led by the Senate President, Comrade Babatunde Akinteye, presented the award on Monday in Government House, Yenagoa. Comrade Akinteye said the honour was the first bestowed on any Nigerian leader and was necessitated by the many developmental initiatives of Governor Diri, especially in the education sector. The students leadership particularly mentioned the building and equipping of technical and vocational schools in the state, donation of vehicles to students unions, setting up of the Students Management Committee as well as sponsorship of students to international sporting competitions among others. The Governor was the guest of honour at the commissioning, matriculation, and 60th anniversary of the Edo College of Health Sciences and Technology (EdoCOHEST) held in Benin City on Wednesday. A statement by the Spokesperson for the Zamfara Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that after the college was commissioned, the governors toured the state-of-the-art facilities at the buildings.
