The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved two major projects to improve healthcare and infrastructure in the state.

 1. Healthcare Upgrade

The council approved a contract worth ₦431.6 million to install 30KVA hybrid solar systems in six cottage hospitals. This will provide a reliable power source for medical equipment and vaccine storage. The hospitals are located in Shelleng, Guyuk, Demsa, Lamurde, Gombi, and Furore local government areas, with a two-month completion period.

2. Infrastructure Development

The council also approved a contract worth ₦8.1 billion for the construction of two bridges along the Mubi-Maiduguri federal highway. The project is divided into two lots:


- Shuwa Bridge: ₦5.6 billion for a 12-span bridge with approach road

- Hyambula Bridge: ₦2.5 billion for a 4-span bridge with approach road


The project will be completed within six months.


3. The council also announced:


- An upward review of ₦500 million for the completion of Mayo Belwa Cottage Hospital

- A collaboration between federal and state ministries of health to launch "Project 10 Million" for screening 10 million Nigerians for high blood pressure and diabetes

- Condolences to families affected by a recent motor accident, with advice to passengers to board vehicles at approved parks and provide the necessary information.


These projects aim to enhance healthcare services and economic growth in Adamawa State
