500 Housing units to be Constructed in Benue


- State Govt Releases Funds for Traffic Lights 


Benue State Government is to collaborate with the Federal Government to build 500 units of two and three bedroom flats in the state.

Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ngunan Addingi, stated this today at Benue Peoples' House, Makurdi, while briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive Council meeting presided by Governor Samuel Ortom.


She stated that the Ortom administration has taken the issue of housing very seriously as it would ease the problem of accommodation for many families. 


Mrs. Addingi noted that EXCO had also approved over N109 million contract for the installation of traffic lights at six locations in Makurdi, the state capital.


She stated that the traffic lights some of which had already been installed are to be located at Tito Junction, University of Agriculture junction, David Mark bye pass junction, Balcony Junction, Katsina- Ala street junction and B Division junction.


The Information Commissioner said EXCO also approved 30th October, 2020 for the auctioning of unclaimed cattle impounded by the Livestock Guards for violating the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of the state.


Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Ijohor, while reacting to allegations on the diversion of palliatives from Oju Local Government Area said Police had been drafted into the investigation and a report would be ready next week, adding that anyone found culpable would be sanctioned.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.
