PDP Govs Forum Condoles Gov. Makinde Over Mother's Demise


- Describes it as a big loss to the nation


The PDP Governors Forum has condoled with H.E. Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State 

on the death of his mother and Matriarch of the Makinde Family, Chief (Mrs.) Omojolagbe Abigail Makinde, who  passed on peacefully Thursday morning at her  Ibadan home.


In a statement signed on behalf of the forum by its   

Director General, Hon. C.I.D. Maduabum, the Forum expressed its heartfelt condolences to Governor Makinde, the immediate family and the good people of Oyo State.

PDP GOVERNORS MOURN GOV MAKINDE MOTHER'S DEATH 


- Describes it as a big loss to the nation.


The PDP Governors' Forum under the leadership of Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, condoles the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde on the death of his mother and Matriarch of the Makinde family, Chief (Mrs.) Omojolagbe Abigail Makinde, who has just passed on.


By all accounts, Mama Makande was a dedicated, kind, humble, committed, generous and resourceful woman who brought up her children in the fear of God, love, hardwork and industry.


We note in particular that she bequeathed these great qualities in her children. His Excellency, Governor Makinde is an epitome of dynamism and progressive ideals, who has demonstrated the rare qualities impacted on him by his late mother. He has brought these qualities to bear in the governance of Oyo State in such a short time.


We commiserate with the government and people of Oyo State, the PDP family and your colleagues at the PDP Governors Forum who stand with His Excellency as we mourn the loss of such a close and dear one.


It is indeed more painful that Mama left the stage at a time her prayers, wise counsel and motherly blessing for Governor Makinde, the people of Oyo state and the nation are needed the most. 


It is God that creates life and takes it away at His discretion. We cannot question Him. We therefore give thanks that Mama lived a fulfilled life of service to her children, community, Oyo State and humanity at large. It is indeed a big loss to the nation. However, in all, we surrender to the will of the Almighty God from whom we draw strength at this time of grief.


May her soul rest in perfect peace and may God grant her forgiveness and welcome her in His bosom.


Our hearts are with the Makindes,  the government and people of Oyo State at this tragic time and we join others in praying that the Almighty God grants them, the family and friends of the bereaved the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.
