Ciroma to Ortom: Nigeria Needs Fearless Leaders Like you to Rescue Her
Former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma says Nigeria needs fearless and truthful leaders like Governor Samuel Ortom to rescue the country from its current state.
The former Women Leader of the People's Democratic Party, PDP and wife of former Minister of Finance, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma spoke at her residence Wednesday, 13th October, 2021 in Abuja when she received Governor Ortom and his entourage on a condolence visit.
Governor Ortom had paid a condolence visit on the widow of foremost second republic politician, Malam Adamu Ciroma who died in 2018.
She stated that at the moment, Nigeria is at a crossroads and it will take the courage of leaders like Governor Ortom and people who think about the feature of the country to overcome the present challenges.
According to her: "if we have Governors like you, maybe two or three, I am sure this country will overcome all its challenges. So I am appealing to leaders like you to join hands with you to rescue our country.
"At the moment, we are at a crossroad and nobody can deny that fact. But it only needs fearless and people that think for the future of this country. So your excellency, you are doing wonderfully well and we are all praying for you and we hope you will keep doing what you are doing. Nobody can intimidate you and nobody should intimidate you," Mrs Ciroma emphasised.
The former Minister said she was honoured and proud to be associated with the Governor especially having received him on a condolence visit, stressing that her husband who also stood for the truth would be happy with the Governor wherever he is.Governor Ortom explained that though the visit is belated, he had to make out time now to commiserate with Mrs Ciroma over the death of her husband, who he described as a "true nationalist that served Nigeria in various capacities."
The Governor who was accompanied on the condolence visit by the former Financial Secretary of the PDP, Ambassador Tukur Mani, prayed God to continue console the bereaved family and also grant the deceased eternal rest.
