Benue Judiciary Among The Best In Nigeria - Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has described the judiciary in the state as one of the best in the country.

He spoke Sunday, October 17th, 2021 during a thanksgiving service to mark the beginning of the 2021-2022 Legal Year, held at NKST Church Low Level, Makurdi.

The theme of this year's legal year is "The Rule of Law: A Panacea to Security, Peace and Development of the Society."

Governor Ortom, while calling for prayers on behalf of judicial officers in the state, explained that the job of the judiciary is sensitive and complex, stressing that it requires one to be in tune with God to be able to give fair and just judgment between dissenting parties.

The Governor pledged his administration's commitment to the fight against criminality and other forms of insecurity, pointing out that steady progress is being made in that regard.

Resident Pastor in charge of NKST Church Low Level, Rev M. M. Ayankaa in his welcome address said the Church is eternally grateful to the Governor for his interventions and appointment of it's members  in key positions in his administration.

He said the Church remains firmly in support of the Governor through prayers as he works hard to defend people of the state from external aggression.

Rev. Ayankaa went on, "your efforts at defending Benue from external aggression deserves commendation" and also encouraged the Governor to "continue to fight internal security."

He called on the judiciary to always "be just and fair in dealing with others."
