Ortom Approves Boarding Facilities For Technical College Gbajimba

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has approved the provision of boarding facilities at Government Science and Technical College, GSTC, Gbajimba, Benue State. 

Governor Ortom gave the approval Monday, 18th October, 2021 in Gbajimba, Guma Local Government Area during the virtual commissioning and handing over of a Model Classroom Block for GSTC donated by Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, a Chevron Company and Partners in Agbami Field. 

The Governor also approved the construction of perimeter fence and recruitment of science and technical teachers for improved teaching and learning of skills by students in the state. 

Governor Ortom who stressed the importance of science and technical education in the society, appreciated the initiators and sponsors of the gigantic project and encouraged parents and guardians to send their wards to the school. 


The Governor while pledging the commitment of his administration to continuously fund the education sector,  also tasked the community to ensure that the facility is protected and judiciously utilized in line with the vision and mission of the initiators. 

The project coordinator, Mr Igodo Ebikibina, acknowledged the cooperation of the host community right from the initiation and completion of the project. 

Commissioner for Science and Technology who currently oversees the ministry of Education, Dr Godwin Oyiwona while also appreciating the project, requested for provision of boarding facilities and construction of perimeter fence for GSTC Gbajimba and recruitment of science and technical teachers. 


Governor Ortom was later conducted round the premises which included classrooms, Information and Community Technology, ICT Center, laboratories, sick bay and offices.
