Governor Mutfwang Seeks Collaboration With Nigeria Customs To Tackle Security Challenges In Plateau

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has sought the support and cooperation of the Nigerian Customs Service in addressing the state's security challenges.

Governor Mutfwang made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Comptroller General of the Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, at the headquarters of the Service in Abuja, in continuation of his engagements with Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies. 

He expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the Customs Service to the people of Plateau State to contribute to national development and mentioned notable figures such as former Comptroller General Da. Jacob Gyang Buba, the Gbong Gwom Jos.

"We value our relationship with the Customs Service, especially given the significant contributions of Plateau State to the service. We aim to foster collaboration and cooperation for the development of our state and the nation," Governor Mutfwang stated.

While acknowledging the relative peace that now prevails in the State, the Governor said the State had witnessed a series of attacks, leading to the displacement of numerous households. 

He appealed to the Customs Service for assistance in addressing the plight of the victims who are now at various Internally Displaced Persons camps.

Responding, Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi expressed gratitude for the visit and assured that the Customs Service would collaborate with Plateau State to promote peace and unity. 

He suggested the use of successful individuals as role models for the younger generation to emulate as part of strategies to check restiveness.

Governor Mutfwang also attended the launch of a book titled "Challenges and Triumph of Nursing Profession in Nigeria" written by Kola Oyedepo, MPH, PhD. He emphasized the crucial role of nurses in healthcare delivery and pledged support for the nursing profession.
