Governor Mbah has done well in 100 days - Enugu Diaspora reecho support

Enugu Diaspora Organization has scored Governor Peter Mbah high in his first 100 days in office.

The group particularly commended the Governor’s efforts towards creating an enabling environment for investment in the state.

President of the organization, Mr. Ken Udichi, spoke at the end of the association’s Annual General Meeting at the Enugu Sports Club.

He called on members, both home and in the Diaspora, to take advantage of the friendly environment by investing in the state.

He added that the Governor’s plan of establishing a $40b industrial park at the Enugu State border with Anambra State, and not in Enugu East Senatorial zone where the Governor comes from, is a clear break from the parochial past.

He said, “the ongoing negotiation between the Enugu State and the Federal Government as regards the upgrading of Akanu Ibiam (cargo and passenger) Airport, with the hope of more foreign airlines making Akanu Ibiam Airport their port of entry, can only make Enugu State a Diaspora Investment Haven.”

He also drew attention to the recent successful hosting of Enugu State Investment and Economic Growth Stakeholders Round Table, which he said proves the direction of the Enugu State Governor.

The Enugu Diaspora Organization President, Mr. Udichi, said that the Governor’s quest for leveraging public private partnership is a clarion call to Enugu, and other Nigerian citizens in Diaspora to come to Enugu State and invest.

“Mbah has proven to be a promise keeper, he promised to end Monday Sit-at-Home, and people are now going about their businesses on Mondays, he promised to reticulate water to the people of Enugu State in 180 days, less than 100 days water is already available in some remote parts of the state capital.”

The Enugu State Diaspora Organization President seized the occasion to thank the Governor for appointing reasonable number of the Diaspora in his cabinet.

He informed that what the Governor has achieved in just hundred days is simply amazing. On behalf of the Enugu Diaspora Organization, he congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, and vowed to use the organization network in encouraging members in Diaspora to come home and invest.
