Support Cultism, Risk Being Suspended, Gov Fubara Warns Traditional Rulers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, says any traditional ruler found to be supporting cultism in his domain to threaten the peace in the State will be suspended indefinitely.

Governor Fubara gave the warning during the inauguration of Mgbuodohia Internal Roads in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Monday.

The Governor harped on the need for everybody to come together and work in synergy while sustaining the peace.

Governor Fubara said his administration cannot be fighting to put under check every threat to life and property of residents in the State and traditional rulers are emboldening youths involved in cultism.

The Governor warned that he will not hesitate to visit such traditional ruler with the same treatment meted to the suspended Eze Igbu Akoh ll, His Royal Majesty, Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi in Ahoada East Local Government Area.

"Everybody needs to come together, work together to sustain peace and respect for this State. I need to say this, any traditional ruler, be it from my place or else where, who is supporting cultism that is beginning to be a problem in our State, I assure you, as I have started with the traditional stool in Ahoada East Local government, I will come after you."

On the internal road project, Governor Fubara said it was flagged-off during the campaigns with the immediate past Governor, Nyesom Wike, assuring that it will be completed by his successor if they supported him to win the governorship election.

Governor Fubara stated that he had returned to inaugurate the project as promised because his mantra is to consolidate and complete every good idea and project of his predecessor because it will put smile on faces and make the lives of the people easier too.

Providing the description of the project, Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dakorinama George-Kelly, said the Mgbuodohia Internal Roads built with drains measure a total of 5.2 kilometers in length will ease mobility for the people because they link the community to Rumuolumeni/Rumuepirikom Road and Nkpor Road.
