Governor Mutfwang Calls For Unity Through Prayer In Plateau State Churches

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has appealed to the people of Plateau State to join in prayers for the unity and prosperity of the church, for the advancement and well-being of the populace.

Governor Mutfwang made this plea on  Saturday during the Valedictory Service of the Anglican Bishop of Jos, Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi, held at the Anglican Diocese of Jos, Church of Nigeria.

He stressed the vital need for the church to find a dependable leader who can unite all denominations within the state and Nigeria at large, for the greater good of both the state and the nation.

The Governor also recognized the role of the church in rebuilding the nation, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare and called for sustained efforts in these directions.

Describing Most Bishop Kwashi as a repository of Church history, Governor Mutfwang underscored the importance of deliberate coordination within the Church in Nigeria to provide clear direction of peace and unity of the nation.

The Governor also suggested the establishment of a Museum of Church History in Plateau State, aimed at acquainting the next generation with the significant role Plateau has played in the growth of Christianity, not only in Nigeria but globally.

Governor Mutfwang extended his gratitude to the people of Plateau State and to God for the privilege bestowed upon him to lead the state, saying it is as a result of divine affirmation.

The Anglican Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev. Benjamin Argak Kwashi, expressed gratitude for his 31 years of service in the Vineyard, during which he nurtured and trained approximately 20 Bishops. He attributed his ministry's success, in large part, to his beloved wife, who significantly shaped his life and character.

Drawing from the Book of Matthew 5:33, Bishop Kwashi encouraged believers to prioritize seeking the kingdom of God, promising that everything else would follow suit. He lamented the commercialization of worldly activities and emphasized the importance of doing things right rather than compromising values for personal gain.

Bishop Kwashi expressed his deep appreciation for the support and positive impact he has received from the people of Plateau and his friends worldwide, offering prayers for abundant blessings upon them.
