Plateau People Celebrates Governor Mutfwang, PDP's Tribunal Victory

...We won't let Plateau down, says Mutfwang

It was a jubilant day for the members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the entire Plateau State community as they gathered to celebrate the victory of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and other elected PDP representatives at the Election Petition Tribunal.

The solidarity rally, which took place at the Langfield Event Centre in Rayfield, Jos, on Tuesday, brought together patriotic citizens from all the 17 Local Government Areas of the state to commemorate the validation of their electoral mandate by the tribunal.

The Executive Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, who led the enthusiastic crowd in a prayer and thanksgiving session, expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His sovereignty over mankind and acknowledged the role of the judges in upholding the will of the Plateau State people.

Governor Mutfwang rallied the crowd and highlighted the unease of the opposition party since his emergence as the PDP candidate, knowing that their days were numbered. He found their argument at the tribunal, which questioned the PDP's party structure for sponsoring candidates in the 2023 election, laughable.

Governor Mutfwang said the tribunal's dismissal of their petition on the grounds of lack of merit, validated his position. He reassured people of Plateau that he would not disappoint them and urged them to have faith in his government.

He also extended his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for maintaining neutrality in all state-related political activities, and described him as a true democrat. The Governor assured the state's teachers that the government was addressing the issue of unpaid salaries left by the previous administration and urged them to remain patient.

Acknowledging the strong support from the people, the Governor disclosed that numerous appointments have been made while over 200 trucks of fertilizer have been acquired  for distribution across the 17 local government areas of the state as part of government palliatives. He assured the people that their welfare remained a top priority.

Former Plateau State Governor Sen. Jonah David Jang expressed gratitude to God for the victory and dedicated it to God and the people of Plateau State. He asserted that the resilience and strength of the PDP structures, would remain steadfast and unbeatable.

He called for unity among Plateau people and emphasized the importance of pursuing core values that contribute to the state's development.

State PDP Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan, represented by Deputy Chairman Captain Bitrus Golen (retired), assured the youth of the party's solidity and urged them to protect the victories secured in the tribunal.

The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Barr. Philimon Daffi, provided an overview of the tribunal cases, pointing out that the judgements in favor of the PDP demonstrated the party's strong structure. He noted that there were also petitions challenging the National and State Assembly Elections, with some ruled in favor of the PDP and others under contention at the Appellate Court.

The solidarity rally saw the presence of all PDP stalwarts, including state, local government, and ward executives, as well as women, elders, youth leaders and supporters of the party across the state.
