COVID-19 Support: BUA Group Donates Ambulances to Abia Govt
As part of support for the fight against Covid-19 disease, the BUA Group, Monday, donated three ambulances to the Abia State Government.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu while receiving the vehicles at Government House, Umuahia, thanked the BUA Group for a timely intervention as the world struggle to win the battle against Coronavirus.
According to him, the BUA Group has shown empathy, love and care for the average Nigerian since the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria, assuriung that the vehicles would be put to good use in reaching the hinterlands.
He used the opportunity to inform that Abia State has started community testing in all the local government areas in the state with a view to covering at least 30% of the population.
The governor, who also disclosed that two more labouratory centres would soon be set up in Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia and Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, pointed out that the idea was to have at least six molecular labouratories in the state in the near future.
He assured that the state government would continue to synergize with the BUA Group to bring the best to Abia State.
Making the presentation, the Chairman of BUA Group, who was represented by Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim, said the group was partnering the federal government and states to support the fight against Covid-19 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities.
He commended Governor Ikpeazu's giant strides in infrastructural development in the state as well as congratulated him on his survival from Covid-19 infection.
