Deputy Chief Of Staff Complies With Governor's Directive On Preparations For Reopening of Schools

In supportive adherence to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu's directive that Political Appointees assist in fumigation and clearing of Schools in their Local Government Areas, preparatory to reopening of Schools for Exit Classes in the State, the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Sir Don Ubani, has put in motion machinery for fumigation and cleaning up of both Community Primary School, Umuiku-Ukor and Community Secondary, Umuiku-Isi-Asa in Ukwa-West Local Government Area.

Speaking while flagging off the exercise at Community Primary School, Umuiku-Ukor, Sir Don Ubani expressed happiness that Governor Ikpeazu has, as usual, shown concern over challenges confronting  Abia students, like their counterparts the world over, by diligently working out arrangements that would enable exit students in the State to go back to school and sit for their examinations.

The Deputy Chief of Staff pointed out that being a Senior Political Appointee in the Administration of Governor Ikpeazu, he appreciates the incumbency of giving unalloyed support to every good programme of the Government. He, therefore, called on all Political Appointees in the State to make meaningful contributions towards making schools in the State safe for reopening on Monday 10th August, 2020.

Sir Don Ubani also called on both Teachers and returning pupils and students to be compliant with all relevant protocols on COVID-19.

In his speech, the Traditional Prime Minister of Umuiku-Isi-Asa Autonomous Community, Chief Henry Okere, commended Sir Ubani for being relentless in his magnanimity to the Community and assured of the Community's total support for the Administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
