Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri received in audience the Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, in the Government House, Yola.
Governor Fintiri assured his administration's commitment to continue to accord priority to youth development through policies and programmes that will empower them not only for economic survival but for future leadership roles in the state and the nation at large.
Governor Fintiri described the NYSC as a laudable scheme that needs to be sustained as it allows Nigerian youths to understand the country better because people come from far and wide to serve their fatherland, despite the global pandemic (Coronavirus) that disrupted the scheme for some time now.
The NYSC members were led to the Government House by the Director-General NYSC scheme, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, were he reiterated the mission statement of NYSC, as to mobilize and groom graduate youths for the promotion of national unity, sustainable development, self-reliance and prepare them for the challenges of leadership.
The DG NYSC thanked Governor Fintiri and the good people of Adamawa State for the support given to NYSC in the state.
