Gov Matawalle Insists On Equal Justice To All In Zamfara

His Excellency, the Zamfara State Governor, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun) has assured that no one in the state will be treated unfairly in the fight against armed banditry in all parts and communities.

The governor stated this today Saturday when he paid sympathy visits to communities recently attacked by armed bandits in the two districts of Kanoma and Janbako who were attacked while he was out of the country on an official engagement.

He said while the state government under his watch will continue to engage armed bandits and other criminals in peace and dialogue in order to make them better citizens, the government will not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone who refuses to tow the path of peace.

According to him, both Fulanis and the outlawed members of the Yansakai group are both Nigerians and citizens of the state, no section, group or community of the state should or would be treated as an outcast as all are equal before the law except for those who feel they want to live as criminals or those who for political reasons want to sabotage his administration.

He warned those who have formed the habit of taking the law into their hands to stop forthwith as he will not tolerate any extra judicial killing from any section in the state.

The governor urged communities to immediately alert security agents situated in their areas when they have any fore knowledge that they are being targeted for an attack. That if communities will endeavour to do this, help will come faster.

He however warned that this does not give license for anyone to cross over from his village in the name of giving help to others.

The Shattiman Sokoto who was given an rousing welcome in all the areas visited during which some people shed tears in appreciation of his efforts in handling the issue of insecurity thanked the people of the state for their prayers for his government to succeed saying that it is the prayers that had helped in the attainment of peace.
