Insecurity: Gov Matawalle Urges Citizens To Support Govt With More Intelligence

His Excellency, the Zamfara State Governor, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun), has urged the good citizens of the state to support government with accurate and reliable intelligence that will lead in ending the security challenges facing the state.

The governor made the call today at the Salahuddeen Al-Ayyubi Jumaat Mosque, Gusau, immediately after performing his prayers.

Gov. Matawalle said citizens have great roles to play in the on-going fight against banditry and other criminalities especially in the areas of providing accurate and reliable intelligence on the activities of the criminals that will lead to fishing them out from the society.

He added that good members of the public may have more intelligence about the movement and activities of the criminals but are not sharing intelligence with the government for immediate and proper action.

The governor who specifically called on landlords and members of the community to ensure giving house rent in accordance with state tenants laws and to also report any suspicious movement to the security agencies for action, pointed out that this will go a long way in addressing the problem.

He also reiterated  his government's policy of carrot-and-stick approach to the on-going fight against banditry and other crimes.

He said the dialogue and reconciliation process will continue with those who accepted or are willing to accept the peace dialogue and repent, while those that refuse to embrace the government's peace process will be dealt with till peace is fully achieved in the state.

The governor promised that government is going to deal with anybody found aiding banditry in the state no matter how highly placed such a person is.

Matawalle also appealed for more positive prayers for government to overcome the resurfacing of the banditry attacks in some communities, recently.

The governor said that his administration has restored  peace in the state but that in recent days, we are recording  some security breach which is being fuelled by the enemies of peace and progress.

He also promised to put a stop to the recent security breach in some areas of the state.
