Governor Bello Matawalle Receives Presidential Visitation Panel Of FCET GUSAU, Assured To Improve Academic Excellence Of The Institution

Governor Bello Mohammed MON, Matawallen Maradun, Barden Hausa, Shettiman Sokoto has today Wednesday 19th May, 2021, received in audience, the Presidential Visitation Panel of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau and assured the panel of his administration's maximum support to improve Academic excellence and competence of the institution.

The Governor who expressed appreciation with the visit of the presidential panel to his office, said the existence of the FCET Gusau is a blessing and great opportunity to the people of Zamfara state, especially women who have the opportunity to be educated technically.


He explained that FCET Gusau as a special school, has been training women in the state and other parts of the country in order to become teachers in technology.


The Shettiman Sokoto said the vision of the college to have the female teachers in technical areas of the academia will go along way in educating the women in technology, and is in line with his administration's resolve to sponsor the training of qualified technical female teachers in education and enterprenuel skills that will man the state science secondary schools across the state.


He assured the presidential Visitation Panel of the state Government's full support to ensure the success of their fact-finding mission to the college and the state in general.

He informed the panel that before he assumed office as the Governor of Zamfara state, the state was the last in education index, but presently Zamfara state is number fourteen in the index of child education, pointing out that this is part of his Administration's committment to improve the educational standard of the state.


Earlier, the Chairman of the Presidential Visitation Panel of Federal College of Education ( Technical)Gusau, Professor Tauheed Adedoja said his panel was in Zamfara State on a fact-finding mission to the college, as part of the annual visitation to the 11 Federal Colleges of Education (Technical) in their terms of references which is an annual routine  in the country.

Professor Adedoja said President Muhammadu Buhari constituted visitation panels to Federal institutions including the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau FCET


He informed the Governor that the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau FCET was established for the purpose of producing female technical teachers that will have basic education needs of the whole West Africa, so as to achieve the mission of training qualified technical female teachers in education and enterprenuel skills that will serve the state and nation in general.

Professor Tauheed Adedoja said the purpose of the visitation panel to FCET Gusau includes; to examine the relationship between the institution and the various statutory bodies it interacts with, for the purpose of supervision, planning, finance, discipline and guidance, Such bodies include the Governing Board, the supervising Agency and the Federal Ministry of Education.


He added that the panel will also examine the quality of the Leadership of the institution interms of the role of the Governing Board, the Head of the institution and other principal officers, as well as to examine the financial management of the institution over the recommended period among others.

He called on the state Government to as a matter of courtesy assist the institution for the attainment of the desired objectives.


The visit was attended by the commissioner of special duties Alhaji Lawal Abubakar Zanna,  Permanent Secretaries of the office of the Executive Governor and Government House Alhaji Abubakar Muhammed Dangaladima, Alhaji Jibrin Baba Gusau, the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor Malam Lawal Umar Maradun, Provost of the College Dr Bello Umar Gusau, the Acting Registrar of the College Muhammed Adamu Bungudu, all members of the visitation panel and top management staff of the institution.
