Governor Fintiri Commends Army Over Counter Insurgency Operations
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended Nigerian army for its ongoing counter insurgency operation, advocating for constant training and re-training of the officers for optimal result.
The governor gave the commendation at the Corporal and below competition 2021 held at the 23rd Armoured Brigade Yola.
Represented by his deputy Chief Crowther Seth governor Fintiri said the competition is another mile stone in improving leadership quality of the non-commission officers of the Nigerian army stressing that the fresh air government is optimistic that it will enhance their fighting capability to enable the army tackle the current security challenges.
Governor Fintiri further acknowledged the cooperation and support the present administration enjoys from the military in its quest to nib the myriad of security challenges in the bud.
Training according to the Governor enhances skills among personnel, making them combat ready for any task, hence the need for the Nigerian army to ensure their men are always physically and strategically sound for operation.
Earlier, the Commander 23rd armoured Brigade, Brigadier Aminu Mustapha Garba revealed that the event is meant to train and practice all non commission officers in combat and physical fitness activities in order to adequately prepare them for the operational task as well as counter insurgency and internal security challenges in Nigeria.
He stressed that the Nigerian army is always committed to ensuring its men attain the desired level of training geared towards equipping them with the modern skills and techniques required to meet up with the current security challenges.
