Governor Tambuwal, Bala, Udom Okowa, Others Storm PDP Govs Forum Meeting In Ibadan

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum meeting has begun in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The conference, which started at around 1.25 p.m. at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ibadan, is attended by thirteen governors.

Currently present at the meeting are Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto); Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa); Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom); Bala Mohammed (Bauchi); Duoye Diri (Bayelsa); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Arthur Okowa (Delta); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Seyi Makinde (Oyo); Nyesom Wike (Rivers); Godwin Obaseki (Delta); Bello Matawalle (Zamfara) represented by his deputy, Aliyu Gusau.

Following welcome remarks by the forum’s Chairman, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, the meeting has moved to a closed-door session.


It was gathered that the Governors are expected to deliberate on issues affecting the country, particularly insecurity, governance, restructuring, among others.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families. Announcing the donation at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House, Little Rayfield, the First Lady said that government is concerned about their plight.  Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her deep concern for the victims, stating that the news of the deteriorating security situation in Mangu Local Government Area on May 15, 2023, had deeply saddened her.  She acknowledged the devastation and despair faced by the affected communities, with destroyed homes and disrupted sources of livelihood.
