Plateau State Governor Distributes Motorcycles, Raincoats, and Rainboots to Security Agencies for Enhanced Surveillance in Rural Communities

In a strategic move to augment the security of lives and property across Plateau State, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has distributed over 100 motorcycles, along with raincoats and rainboots, to various security agencies operating within the state.

This initiative is aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of surveillance, particularly in the rural communities where access to challenging terrains has been a significant obstacle.

During the presentation ceremony, held on Thursday at the Old Government House in Rayfield, Governor Mutfwang emphasized that this gesture aligns with his administration's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

He stated that the distribution marks the first phase of a broader intervention strategy designed to empower security personnel to navigate difficult terrains and enhance their operational capabilities in rural areas.

"This is a landmark moment in our ongoing efforts to secure peace and stability in Plateau State. Over the past two months, we have made significant strides in our pursuit of a safer Plateau. Supporting our security agencies with essential logistics, particularly in rural areas, is crucial for safeguarding our farmers and ensuring they can cultivate enough food for our people," the governor remarked.

Governor Mutfwang also highlighted the state's substantial investment in advanced technology to address the various security challenges facing Plateau State. He warned personnel who may be tempted to misuse the motorcycles for personal purposes, saying strict measures would be enforced to prevent such misconduct.

Earlier, Mr. Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the Government of the State, said the items distributed would be allocated to various security outfits, including the military, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Operation Rainbow, among others.

Speaking on behalf of the security agencies, Mr. Alexander Barunde, the Commandant of NSCDC in Plateau State, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for his support. He assured that the equipment would be utilized effectively to enhance security across the state.
