Obaseki approves payment of gratuities for LG pensioners who retired in 2010

…begins screening from Monday, August 26

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has approved the payment of gratuities to the pensioners on the payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2010.

In a notice, Mary Omon Arewa (Mrs.), Acting Secretary of Local Government Staff Pension Board, for the Chairman, the government invited the pensioners for a screening exercise scheduled to be held from Monday 26th to Friday 30th August, 2024 at 8am - 4pm daily in the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Pension House, Kings Square, Benin City.

In the document titled, “Notice of Screening Exercise for Pensioners on the Payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2010,” Mary Omon Arewa said the pensioners are expected to present their letter of retirement, pensioner biometrics, pension identity card and pay advice.

According to the notice, “I am directed to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, has graciously approved the payment of gratuities to the pensioners on the payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2010."

“The affected pensioners are invited for a screening exercise scheduled to be held from Monday 26th to Friday 30th August, 2024 at 8am - 4pm daily in the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Pension House, Kings Square, Benin City.”

Local Government Staff Pension Board added, “The pensioners are requested to present the following documents: Letter of Retirement; Pensioner Biometrics; Pension Identity Card and Pay Advice. Your presence is highly essential, please.”
