Gov Eno Assures on Continuous Spread of Projects Across All LGAs

  …commissions model primary health center in Nsit Ibom Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured residents that the state, under his administration, will continue to ensure an even distribution of projects across all local government areas. Governor Eno gave this assurance at the commissioning of a Primary Health Center (PHC) in Oboyo Ikot Ita, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. He noted that the construction of the Nsit Ibom PHC fulfills a promise he made upon assuming office to establish a primary health center and a model primary school in every local government area. He added that, in addition to those already commissioned, seven more projects will be ready for commissioning before the end of the year. The Governor also promised that 2025 would be a year focused on projects, given the extensive analysis and new approach to the 2025 budget. Diri To NDDC: Consult States On Projects

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has urged management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to ensure proper consultation with state governments in the Niger Delta region before executing projects. Senator Diri gave the admonition on Monday when the NDDC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, and his management team paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Yenagoa. The Governor stressed that the commission, as an intervention agency, should play complementary role in development of states within the region and not compete with governors or states. He advised the commission to ensure that the relevant  ministries in the state were consulted for approval before executing projects in order to avoid duplication. BudgIT 2024 Ranking: Zamfara Emerges Highest in IGR Growth in Nigeria

Zamfara State has been ranked as Nigeria’s leading Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) state performance on Index A.  BudgIT’s State of States Report for 2024, launched last week Tuesday, is an annual publication evaluating each state's long-term fiscal performance and sustainability. A statement by the spokesperson of the Zamfara Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed that the significant improvement in the growth of the Zamfara Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by 240.44% is linked to the state's decision to not rely only on Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). The statement added that the BudgIT report was obtained through its annual analysis, assessment, and rankings of the fiscal performance of all 36 states, from the most to the least sustainable. Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has affirmed that the coordination of all activities and engagements related to women in the state falls solely under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare. Speaking at the national combined service of All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket, the Governor emphasized that the responsibilities of the Ministry of Women Affairs are clearly defined regarding the management of women-related affairs. He stressed that there should be no conflict, ambiguity, or confusion between the ministry’s role and that of the Office of the First Lady and its pet project, the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA).
