Governor Bala Mohammed Chairs Bauchi State Executive Council Meeting, Addresses Key State and National Concerns
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, chaired a State Executive Council (SEC) meeting today at the Executive Chamber of the Government House, reaffirming his administration's commitment to the #MyBauchiProject blueprint and addressing pressing state and national matters.
The governor called on cabinet members to stay committed to the administration's goals, urging them to work diligently toward achieving the promises made to the people of Bauchi State.
Turning to national issues, Governor Mohammed voiced concerns over the proposed national tax reform law, expressing apprehension that it may overlook the interests of the northern region. Emphasizing Nigeria's need for equitable governance, he cautioned against passing any legislation that could marginalize any part of the country.
In his appeal, Governor Mohammed urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to withhold assent to any bills that could potentially disadvantage specific regions, underscoring the importance of policies that promote balanced growth and development across the nation.
"I am confident in the northern region’s ability to sustain its economy, especially given our resources in agriculture and minerals," he stated, advocating for policies that would genuinely spur growth and prosperity across the North.
Following the governor's address, the council proceeded to a closed-door session, with members of the State Executive Council discussing additional issues pertinent to the state.
