Conferment of Traditional Title on the Governor of Bauchi State by the Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar 111, has conferred the traditional title of KAURAN DAULAR USMANIYA on the Governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency, Senator Bala A. Mohammed.

Governor Bala Mohammed who doubles as Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, PDP-GF, is henceforth to be addressed as KAURAN BAUCHI AND KAURAN DAULAR USMANIYA.

The appointment was contained in a statement credited to the Secretary of the Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'idu Muhammad Maccido.

According to the statement, a date will soon be announced for the formal turbaning ceremony in Sokoto.

The statement further said, the conferment is among the events slated to commemorate the Sultan's 18th year anniversary on the throne.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
