N70,000 Minimum Wage Approved for Bauchi State Civil Servants, about N500 Billion as 2025 Budget

Bauchi State Government has earmarked about N260 million for the perimeter fencing of the state -owned Agricultural Resource Manpower Institution, the Bauchi State College of Agriculture.

This was brought to light by the Commissioner Ministry of Higher Education and Regional Integration, Lydia Haruna Tsammani, while briefing the Government House correspondents on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting of Wednesday, 20th November, 2024.

Lydia Haruna Tsammani explained that the Council sees it worthy to safeguard the institution, which according to her, is currently facing many irregularities of land encroachment and insecurity.

On his part, the Commissioner Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Aminu Hammayo, has confirmed the scheduled budget presentation of about N500 billion to the State House of Assembly by Governor Bala Muhammad on Thursday.

He explained that the 2025 Appropriation Bill is expected to compliment on the Fabulous Budget performance of 2024.

Consequently, the State Executive Council has ratified the payment of N70,000 as minimum wage for civil servants in the state, taking effect from November 2024.

The Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Adamu Ningi, while confirming this said the development followed a thorough consultation between the government and the Labour unions.
