Gov Fintiri Conducts Surprise Inspection Of Projects On New Year’s Day
Despite the public holiday declaration for New Year’s Day, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State embarked on a surprise inspection of ongoing projects in the state.
His first stop was the Yola market project, where he issued a stern warning to contractors, urging them to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
Governor Fintiri expressed concern over delays in some parts of the project and gave contractors a two-week ultimatum to hasten their work or face contract revocation.
The Governor’s next stop was the Lamurde LGA, where he reinspected the ongoing model primary and junior secondary school project.
During his last visit, he had given the contractor an ultimatum of thirty days to speed up the work.
This time, Governor Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the progress made but gave the contractor an additional thirty days to complete the work.
He emphasized that his administration intends to deliver the school and others across the 21 Local Government Areas by the end of March or April for admission in September.
The Governor had also inspected Government Science and Technical School Lamurde project to see the level of work executed at the site.
He assured the public that any contractor who defaults on their assignment will be held responsible and pursued to account for public funds.
The Governor also promised persistent monitoring to ensure the project’s qualitative delivery before the next rainy season, providing traders with a conducive environment for business.
The Yola South Council chairman, Salihu Malkohi, and other stakeholders commended Governor Fintiri for his efforts in realizing the project.
