Gov Agbu Kefas Swears In High Court Judges, Inaugurates Newly Constituted Board of Internal Revenue Service

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has sworn in the newly appointed Judges of the High Court and Customary Court of Appeal and as well inaugurated the newly Constituted Board of Internal  Revenue Service.

The swearing-in ceremony took place this Wednesday at the Exco Chamber Government House, Jalingo.

The Judges sworn in by the Governor of Taraba state Dr Agbu Kefas include Justice Hamidu Audu, Justice Joel Daniel Ubandoma, and Justice Jennifer Bibonga, all of the state  High Court while those of the Customary Court of Appeal are Justice Esther Tata and Justice Benjamin Samuila Abwage.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Agbu Kefas congratulated them on their appointments and said it is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of the state have in them.

Dr Agbu Kefas enjoined them to ensure that the law is applied impartially, without fear or favour.

While describing the judiciary as the bedrock of the society, the Governor told the judges that it is through their wisdom that the rights of the people will be protected.

According to him, their decisions have far-reaching impacts on people's lives hence the need to discharge their duty with the highest sense of responsibility and professionalism.

Furthermore, the Governor reiterated his administration's commitment to supporting the judiciary to promote economic development and ensure social justice.

Dr. Kefas said he will continue to provide the needed resources to ensure that the judiciary functions effectively.

The Governor who also inaugurated the Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue Service under the Chairmanship of retired General Jeremiah Faransa, urged them to explore alternative revenue sources.

He expressed confidence in the team to deliver on their mandates and added that their inauguration signifies the promotion of transparency and accountability.

Responding on behalf of the judges, sworn-in, justice Hamidu Audu, thanked the Governor for finding them worthy.

He said they are willing and ready to work in line with the oath they have sworn to.

The occasion was attended by top government Functionaries, family members, and well-wishers of the judges and members of the board of Internal Revenue Service.
