I Will Pay Any Amount Federal Government Approves as Minimum Wage - Gov Agbu Kefas

The Governor of Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas, says his administration will adhere to any amount agreed by the Federal Government and Labour Unions as the new national minimum wage.

Dr Agbu Kefas disclosed this in Jalingo while speaking in an interview with Journalists on Tuesday 11th of May 2024,  shortly after he inspected some projects in Jalingo the state capital.

Federal Government and Labour unions are still negotiating on the new national minimum wage but the good news for civil servants in Taraba State is that Governor Agbu Kefas has agreed to pay any amount arrived at by the Federal Government as minimum wage

He insisted that the welfare of the workers remains his responsibility.

It would be recalled that Governor Agbu Kefas unilaterally increased salaries of Taraba workers to the national minimum wage of 30000 naira immediately on assumption of office last year.
