PDP Governors' Forum Felicitates Gov. Douye Diri On His 65th Birthday

The Peoples' Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) under the Chairmanship of H.E. Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (CON), the Governor of Bauchi State, on behalf of all the member-Governors, heartily fetes H.E. Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State as he turns 65 years today.

2. The Forum joins the Diri Family, friends, and indeed, all Bayelsans at home and in the Diaspora, to give all gratitude to the Almighty God for his life, good health, and the capacity to pilot the affairs of State in Bayelsa.

3. The Forum acknowledges his firm stand for peace and the rule of law which unequivocally are instrumental to  meaningful coexistence among kith and kin; and also delivering more impactful development -  the core purpose of the Prosperity Government’s continuity in office.

4. The Forum lauds his administration’s effective transformation of the state in line with its vision of a shared prosperity for all Bayelsans, touching the areas of Education including technical bias , Health, Transportation, Road networking and Urban renewal, Aviation; SME funding, Sports prioritization, Blue economy development, Environmental protection, Youth and Women empowerment, and Tourism, among others.

5.So far, the Diri-led government had veered deep into the creeks and communities with the  revived construction of 22.2km Yenagoa-Oporoma Road (Southern Ijaw LGA), 42km Sagbama-Ekeremor Road (Sagbama and Ekeremor LGAs) and 21km Nembe-Brass Road (Brass and Nembe LGAs), three highways across the three Senatorial Districts; ongoing construction of 150 school buildings across all constituencies in the state; sustaining the Bayelsa State Education Trust Fund and the Bayelsa State Higher Education Loan Scheme through which the tuition fees of more than 10,000 Bayelsa students in higher institutions in Nigeria has been paid; ongoing construction of 150 school buildings across all constituencies in the state and completion of Referral Hospital in Kaiama  and Ekeremor amongst other legacy projects. 

6.Worthy of mention also is his resolve to improve workers’ welfare at every stage of economic strain from the nation’s economy, a tool for high productivity and inclusivity.

7.The Forum prays for the success of his administration and unshaken unity among the people of Bayelsa State as he continues to deliver more democratic dividends to them.

Education Remains a Top Priority of Our Policy Thrust: Gov. Fubara

The Rivers State Government says it will continue to place education as one of the top most priorities of its policy thrust. Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara stated this during the 34th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Port Harcourt on Saturday 24th February, 2024. Governor Mutfwang Crowns New Ngolong Ngas, HRH Nde Jika Golit

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has performed the coronation of the New Ngolong Ngas, Nde Jika Golit. The ceremony is coming nine years after the demise of the late Ngolong Ngas, Nde Joshua Dimlong. Governor Mutfwang, who performed the presentation of staff of office and certificate to the New Ngolong Ngas at the Pankshin Township Stadium, praised the Ngas Nation for a rancor-free selection process of the new Ngolong Ngas.
