Gov. Agbu Kefas Meets with Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke, Pledges Support to Enhance Security in Taraba for Investors and Tourists

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, received the Commander Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General L G Lepdung and his team on 11th of May 2024 at the Exco Chamber Government House Jalingo while on an operational visit to the state.

Receiving the military officers, Dr. Agbu Kefas assured that his administration will continue supporting the military to make their operations effective and to make the state conducive for investors and tourists.

The Governor stressed the need for the military to play their role with a high sense of responsibility for the benefit of Tarabans, adding that they should be civil to build confidence among citizens.

He disclosed the desire to convene a forum with Governors of states neighbouring Taraba like Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa, Adamawa, Gombe and the Republic of Cameroon to discuss matters of security to make the states peaceful.

He extolled the qualities of the Commander and urged him to bring his wealth of experiences to bear to ensure peace is restored to troubled areas.

The Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General L G Lepdung, told the Governor that he was in the Government House to assure him of their commitment to peace restoration in troubled areas of the state.

He expressed appreciation to the Governor for his positive disposition towards the military and further solicited more support in areas of administrative policies to address issues that may have resolved disputes.

The courtesy visit was attended by Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, Deputy Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, SSG Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Chief of Staff Government House Jalingo, Dr. Jeji Williams, Head of Civil Service, Mr. Paul Tino Maigida, Members of the state Executive Council, Special Advisers, and heads of security agencies among others.

Education Remains a Top Priority of Our Policy Thrust: Gov. Fubara

The Rivers State Government says it will continue to place education as one of the top most priorities of its policy thrust. Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara stated this during the 34th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Port Harcourt on Saturday 24th February, 2024. Governor Mutfwang Crowns New Ngolong Ngas, HRH Nde Jika Golit

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has performed the coronation of the New Ngolong Ngas, Nde Jika Golit. The ceremony is coming nine years after the demise of the late Ngolong Ngas, Nde Joshua Dimlong.
