Coronavirus: Umahi & Other Governors Pledge To Work With Federal Ministry Of Health To Set Up Isolation Centres

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi FNSE, FNATE, Wednesday, attended the Nigeria Governors' Forum meeting at NGF Secretariat, Abuja.



The Governors Forum welcomed Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who attended the forum meeting for the first time.

The Forum pledged to work with the Federal Ministry of Health to set up a functional test and Isolation centres in all the States in the country.

After an extensive discussion on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and fallen oil prices on the Nigerian Economy and revenue of the State Government, the forum constituted a subcommittee consisting of the Governors of Kaduna, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Ogun, Nassarawa, Edo and Jigawa states to comprehensively review the trend and advise the government on the set of action required to address challenges in our economy.

The Forum also sympathized with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, on the unfortunate incident that led to the loss of about 20 persons in the State.

The Forum meeting was presided by its Chairman, Governor Fayemi Kayode of Ekiti State.
