COVID-19: Udom assures corps members of safety in A’Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has assured all corps members deployed to the State of safety from the pandemic plague of coronavirus in the State.
Emmanuel spoke on Thursday during the swearing-in ceremony of 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members deployed to the State at Ikot Itie Udung,
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, said that the State was mustering efforts to ensure a coronavirus-plague-free environment and other related diseases.
He urged the officials and the entire camp community to abide by the rules of hygiene early sensitized on.
Emmanuel, charged the corps members to imbibe the doctrine of discipline, stressing that the journey towards self-reliance during and after the service year depends on their conduct.
He reiterated that the State Government was committed to the welfare of the corps members in the State, added, that the policy would be sustained to derive the best from the scheme.
“While the entire world is under the pressure of containing the dreaded disease, COVID-19".
“I would like to enjoin the entire camp community to strictly abide by the rules of hygiene to which you have been sensitized".
“In Akwa Ibom State, efforts have been mustered to ensure that our environment is free of the pandemic and other related diseases".
Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Oluwale Amusan, had commended the State Government for its efforts in conducting sensitization against coronavirus and the need to maintain correct hygiene.
Amusan, who thanked the Governor for his unflinching support to the scheme, assured that the scheme was prepared to deploy all human resources to areas most beneficial to the State.
He said that at the close of registration on Wednesday, 1,910 corps members were registered comprising 950 males and 960 females.
