GOV. FINTIRI COMMISERATES WITH FAMILY OF USMAN MARAFA OVER DEATH OF ASTAJAM

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Wednesday, commiserated with the family of Alhaji Aliyu Marafa over the demise of their daughter, Astajam Aliyu Marafa.
 The Governor who paid the condolence visit in Yola described the death as a great loss urging the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a worthy life.
 Governor Umaru Fintiri prayed to God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
 Responding on behalf of the family, Alhaji Usman Aliyu Marafa, appreciated the Governor for identifying with them in their trying period and prayed Allah to reward him.

Alhaji Marafa who is the State Chairman Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board noted that the demise has created a vacuum in the family which only God can fill.

Late Astajam Marafa, a sister to Alhaji Usman Aliyu Marafa, died at the age of seventy five and has since been buried according to Islam injunction.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities. He said the contracts included the design and construction of flyover bridge at Enerhen junction to Marine Gate; study, design and construction of road expansion and improvement works on the section of the DSC/NPA Expressway from Effurun roundabout to DSC roundabout including construction of a 3/4 Cloverleaf interchange at the existing Effurun Flyover Bridge as well as two pedestrian bridges.
